btw: Shooting in RAW and adjusting contrast etc during processing the RAW on my Mac may also contribute to a result with more clarity.

Using a tripod helps A LOT!
But the main reason my pictures are that sharp is that I do the post-production sharpening after reducing the size for web presentation ;)
